12Coexistence of Diverse Organisms

Various organisms are presently living on the Earth. Just glancing over an enormous list of biodiverse species, however, does not illuminate the details of each organism's life. They live, reproduce, and die in diverse environments; they continue their generations in such iterations. It is therefore important to make all-out efforts to comprehend their ecology in the context of actual conditions. The world population reached 6.6 billion at the outset of the 21st century; thus, humans are putting an enormous amount of pressure on the Earth's environment. It is also requisite to cogitate on the preservation of biodiversity and the global environment. This chapter expounds topics such as preservation of biodiversity, based upon the understanding of adaptation to environments, interactions among organisms, population dynamics, coexistence of biocenoses and diverse species, and the structure and dynamics of ecosystems.
